MEET MATT GALLOWAY:
Matt Galloway is a lifelong resident of Daviess County, rooted in a community that values hard work, faith, and service. A graduate of Daviess County High School, he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Business from Brescia University. During his time at Brescia, he played collegiate golf and was honored with the Spirit of Angela Merici Award, recognizing his character, faith, leadership, and commitment to service. Those principles continue to guide him today.
He met his wife, Molly, while they were both students at Brescia. Married for nearly nine years, they are proud to be raising their two children, four-year-old Monroe and newborn Millie, in the same community they call home. The family are active members of St. Stephen Cathedral, where their Catholic faith keeps them grounded and closely connected to the people they serve alongside.
Professionally, Matt serves as a Manager for Columbia Sportswear, overseeing quality initiatives, labor management, and workforce optimization. His career also includes leadership roles in manufacturing and banking, where he has served as a Manager, Senior Inventory Control Analyst, Production Planner and Scheduler, and Auditor. In every role, he has built a reputation for accountability, problem-solving, and steady, principled leadership.
Daviess County has shaped every opportunity in Matt’s life, from education to career to raising his family. He believes strong communities are built through service, integrity, and a willingness to step up when needed. He is committed to giving back with the same dedication and values that this community instilled in him.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, enjoying the outdoors, and staying active through fitness. These moments keep him grounded and continually remind him why serving this community matters.

Matt is running to provide steady, professional leadership for Daviess County. His focus is simple: operate the office with honesty, integrity, and transparency while improving service for residents, strengthening the team that serves them, and ensuring elections are conducted safely and efficiently. Every decision will be guided by accountability to the public and a commitment to doing the job the right way.
To Secure and Protect Our Elections
Matt is committed to honest, transparent elections conducted in a highly organized and professional manner. When issues arise, they will be addressed openly with election teams and the public. Root causes will be identified, action plans implemented, and safeguards put in place so problems do not repeat. The goal is simple: restore and strengthen public trust that elections are safe, fair, and well-run.
To Be of Service to our Residents
Improving the customer experience begins with supporting the employees who serve the public every day. Matt will build a well-trained, confident team committed to excellence and respectful service for all residents, whether they prefer face-to-face assistance or technology-based solutions. Efficient processes will reduce frustration and ensure every interaction reflects professionalism and care.
To Bring Effectiveness and Preparedness to the Clerk's Office
Matt will work to reduce wait times and help residents plan their visits by providing estimated wait times through social media or phone updates. A dedicated training team will ensure procedures are followed consistently and staff are prepared to handle complex situations. Emergency plans will also be developed to manage high-volume days caused by weather or other events, providing stability during stressful situations.
To Be Accountable and Accessible
Matt will be present and accessible to both staff and the community. He believes leadership requires visibility, responsibility, and follow-through. To ensure accountability, he plans to publish a public scorecard showing progress on commitments made, allowing residents to see real results rather than promises.
